Buenos Aires, December 16 (NA) — Matías Di Paolo is the firefighter who died in El Palomar after being run over by a car at high speed along with his colleagues while extinguishing a grass fire.

A short life as a firefighter from Tres de Febrero and a host of stories. The incident in which Di Paolo died occurred on Monday on Route 201 and Avenida Márquez when driver César Cervantes ran over the firefighters, causing the death of the 33-year-old man and injuring the other firefighters, according to Agencia Noticias Argentinas.

As time went by, it became known that Di Paolo was in a relationship with Micaela Quipildor, one of the injured, and that he was a fan of Boca Juniors and motorsport.

"The best of my life," Di Paolo considered his work as a firefighter, and on his social networks, he daily reaffirmed this by uploading various images. For this fact, the National System of Volunteer Firefighters issued a statement where it regretted the death and informed that a 72-hour mourning period was declared.

More than a year ago, a photo had been taken in the same place where he died.

On his social networks, he showed several of the jobs he had participated in as a Volunteer Firefighter, and one of them was the collapse of the Hotel Dubrovnik in Villa Gesell. On that occasion, he had also gone to mitigate the flames of grasslands.
